spark grant๐ŸŽ‰Weโ€™re bringing home a WIN for Webster County! ๐ŸŽ‰

Three of our Highlander Health Science juniors โ€” Will Walkup, Colton Tanner, and Zeke Gray โ€” along with their mentor and instructor - Beth Roberts - just earned 3rd place out of 86 original teams in the statewide SparkWV Grant Competition, hosted by The EdVenture Group during Bridging Innovation Week in Shepherdstown! ๐Ÿ†

Their 'Big Idea' project, Wellness Works, is a student-designed healthcare kiosk that would bring HIPAA-compliant telehealth services directly into our high school โ€” addressing serious medical and mental health gaps in rural communities like ours. The judges were blown away by their professionalism, creativity, and passion for helping their peers.

Beth Roberts stated, "As their instructor and mentor, I couldnโ€™t be more proud of their hard work and heart. This was Webster Countyโ€™s first year ever participating in SparkWV โ€” and we showed the state what our students are capable of!"

๐Ÿ’ฌ Stay tuned as we continue sharing our Big Ideas with local leaders and explore ways to bring this innovative opportunity to life. Go Highlanders! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ–ค
