Maggie, Amber, Jessi, Perry

In a remarkable achievement for the WCHS Highlander Health Science Program, four senior students - Maggie Cochran, Perry Knight, Amber Short, and Jessica Short - have successfully passed their Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT/A) exams, marking a significant milestone in their journey by becoming certified healthcare workers. Mrs. Beth Roberts, the dedicated instructor at Highlander Health Science, expressed her pride and excitement over this accomplishment.

"I have great news to share! We have four more certified healthcare workers in our community," Mrs. Roberts exclaimed. "Maggie Cochran, Perry Knight, Amber Short, and Jessica Short, four of my senior students, took their Certified Patient Care Technician exams today, and all of them passed with flying colors! I am so proud of these students!"

The CPCT/A certification, administered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), is a testament to the students' dedication and hard work. NHA, recognized as the largest allied health certification agency in the United States, has awarded over 1 million nationally recognized certifications, underscoring the significance of this achievement. Patient care technicians play a crucial role in the healthcare system, providing essential support to doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Mrs. Roberts further emphasized the significance of this achievement, stating, "This accomplishment is a testament to the dedication and hard work of Maggie, Perry, Amber, and Jessica. It highlights their readiness to contribute positively to the healthcare field, and I couldn't be prouder of their success."

Looking ahead, Mrs. Roberts and the Highlander Health Science Program are determined to continue supporting their students as they pursue additional national credentials, including Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) and Certified EKG Cardiology Technician Certifications (CET). These opportunities not only enhance the students' skill sets but also empower them to make meaningful contributions to the healthcare community. All four students who passed the CPCT/A exams have expressed their intentions to further their education in healthcare by attending college and pursuing medically-related degrees. This dedication to continuous learning reflects their commitment to excellence and their desire to make a lasting impact in the field of healthcare.

As the Highlander Health Science Program celebrates this remarkable achievement, the community extends its heartfelt congratulations to Maggie Cochran, Perry Knight, Amber Short, and Jessica Short, who have demonstrated exceptional dedication and proficiency in their pursuit of healthcare excellence. Their success serves as an inspiration to their peers and a testament to the outstanding education provided by the Highlander Health Science Program.
